This is the description of my Lemon square pattern, I have also used this pattern to make orange, lime and grapefruit squares.

Ok, let’s get started with the pattern! Start with the Catona yarn, and use color 208 for lemon and orange, 245 for lime, and 264 for grapefruit.

1 Ch 6.

Close to a ring with 1 sl st in the first ch.

 

3 16 sc into the ring. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sc. (Total 16 sc)

 

4 «Ch 2 (= 1 hdc), 1 hdc» in the next st, «2 hdc» in each st. End the round with 1 sl st in the second ch on the first hdc. (Total 32 hdc)

1 sc in each st. End the round with a sl st in the first sc. (Total 32 sc)

*3 sc, «2 sc» in next st* 8 times. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sc. Cut the yarn. (Total 40 sc)

 
 

7 Change color (106 for lemon and orange, 100 for lime, and 523 for grapefruit). This round  is crocheted in BLO. *5 sc, 1 hdc through the hole in the center* 8 times. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sc. Cut the yarn. (Total 40 sc, 8 hdc)

  8   Change color (403 for lemon, 280 for orange, 392 for lime and 403 for grapefruit).
This round  is crocheted in BLO. 1 sc in each st. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sc. Cut the yarn. (Total 48 sc)

 

9 Change color (280 for lemon, 281 for orange, 389 for lime, and 208 for grapefruit). This round is crocheted in the FLO. *5 sl st, «2 sl st» in next st* 8 times. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sl st. Cut the yarn. (Total 56 sl st)

 

10 Change color (205 for lemon, 245 for orange, 212 for lime, and 515 for grapefruit) Turn the lemon over so the backside is up.*1 sc in the long hdc in round 7, ch 4* 8 times. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sc. (Total 32 ch, 8 sc)

 

11 Turn the lemon over so the frontside is up. 1 sl st to the next ch-4 sp* «1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc» in next ch-4 sp* 8 times. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sc. (Total 16 sc, 16 hdc, 16 dc, 8 tr)

 

12 *1 sc through the BLO of the st on round 7 and between the leaves from previous round, 3 sc, «1 sc, 2 ch, 1 sc» in the next st (the tip of the leaf), 3 sc* 8 times. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sc. Cut the yarn.  (Total 80 sc, 16 ch)

 

13 Change color (385 for lemon, 264 for orange, 280 for lime, and 392 for grapefruit). Start at the top of a leaf. *2 sc in the ch-2 sp, 1 sc, 2 hdc, 3 dc, 2 hdc, 1 sc* 8 times. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sc. Cut the yarn. (Total 32 sc, 32 hdc, 24 dc)

14 Change yarn to Scheepjes Catona Denim (color 166 for lemon, 130 for orange, 120 for lime, 171 for grapefruit). Start the round in the last sc of 2 in ch-2 sp r.13, *13 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc, «1 tr, ch 2, 1 tr» in the next st, 2 dc,1 hdc, 2 sc* 4 times. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sc. Cut the yarn. (Total 60 sc, 8 ch, 8 hdc, 16 dc, 8 tr, 1 sl st)

 

15 Change yarn to the Catona yarn (color 400 for lemon, 251 for orange, 208 for lime, 389 for grapefruit). 2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc» in next ch-2 sp (corner), 23 hdc,* 4 times. End the round with 1 sl st in the first hdc. Cut the yarn.  (Total 1o8 hdc, 8 ch, 1 sl st)
