I intended to chrochet a flower, but I ended up with something that looked more like a star. I am calling it a star flower. You crochet the star flower together in round 7 (picture 8).

Ch 8, 1 sl st in to the first ch, to form a ring. ch 1 (= 1 sc), 17 sc into the ring. End the round with 1 sl st in the first ch. (Total 1 ch, 17 sc, 1 sl st).

Ch 2 (= 1 sc, ch 1) *1 sc in the next st, ch 1* 17 times. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sc. (Total 19 ch, 17 sc, 1 sl st)

1 sc in the next ch-1 sp, *ch 5, skip over 2 ch-1 sp, 1 sc in the third ch-1 sp* 5 times, ch 5. End the round with 1 sl st in the first sc. (Total 30 ch, 6 sc, 1 sl st)

-5 1 sl st to the ch-5 loop 1 ch(= 1 sc), 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dtr, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc» in the ch-5 sp* 6 times. For the second repeat to sixth repeat, replace ch 1 with 1 sc in the beginning. End the round with 1 sl st in the first ch. (Total 1 ch, 11 sc, 12 hdc, 12 dc, 12 tr, 6 dtr, 1 sl st)

-9 1 sl st to next st, *1 sc in next st* 4 times, *ch 5, **1 sc in the next st** 9 times* 5 times, ch 5, *1 sc in next st* 3 times. End the round with 1 sl st in the first ch. (Total 53 sc, 30 ch, 2 sl st) Assemble the star flower as shown in image 8-9.
