The story behind the pattern.

Some squares takes several months to create a pattern for, the Poppy love square pattern is made in one day. The pattern just popped into my head and out through my fingers.

Introduction

I have divided the Poppy love square pattern in to three parts, such as the flower in the middle (r.1-6), the leafs around the flower (r.7-8) and the square (r.9-12).

Stitches in the pictures are the stitches I crocheted (not what they count as).

Alternatives

The pattern below can be adjusted, depending on your own preferences. For example:

  • The initial ch on round 1 can be made with a magic ring.
  • You can start each round with a standing stitch wherever possible, instead of ch.
  • You can end each round with an invisible join wherever possible, instead of a sl st.
  • I prefer to weave in the ends after each round, for best result. You can choose to do that after finishing all rounds as well.
